General Questions

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes. We provide free, no-obligation quotes for all our glass services. Call or text us at 469-988-1581, or use our contact form. For the fastest estimate, text us a few photos and rough measurements of your project.

What areas do you serve?

We serve the entire Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex from our locations in Arlington and Forney β€” including Fort Worth, Mansfield, Grand Prairie, Dallas, Irving, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Rockwall, Mesquite, Terrell, Waxahachie, and surrounding cities across six counties.

Do you offer emergency glass repair?

Yes, we offer same-day emergency glass service across DFW. We can board up broken windows or storefronts to keep your property secure, then measure and install replacement glass. There is a $250 emergency minimum.

Will I work directly with the owner?

Yes! Artisan Glass Designs is owner-operated. Mark personally handles projects from quote through installation β€” no call centers, no middlemen. With over 15 years of glass experience, you get expert craftsmanship and personal service every time.

How long does a glass project take?

Most custom glass is ready 5–10 business days after measurement. Installation is typically completed in 1–2 hours for mirrors and shower doors. Larger projects like glass railings take longer. We'll give you a clear timeline with your quote.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, we are fully licensed and insured. Certificates of insurance are available on request for commercial and builder projects.

Frameless Shower Doors

How much does a frameless shower door cost?

Most frameless shower doors range from $1,000 to $2,500 depending on size, glass thickness, and hardware. Every shower door project includes a 3D CAD rendering so you can see the design before we build it.

What kind of hardware do you use?

We use premium, industry-leading Aeon and FHC hardware, backed by a 5-year hardware warranty. Quality hardware means your glass looks great and functions smoothly for years.

How do I keep my shower glass clean?

Squeegee or towel-dry the glass after each use, and clean with mild, non-abrasive, ammonia-free products. Avoid abrasive pads and ammonia-based cleaners β€” these can damage the glass and void your warranty.

Custom Mirrors

Can you cut a mirror to any size or shape?

Yes. We cut mirrors to any custom dimension, including unusual shapes like arches, ovals, and angled cuts. We can also drill holes for sconce lighting or hardware.

What's the difference between a polished and beveled edge?

A polished edge is smooth and flat β€” clean and modern. A beveled edge has an angled cut around the perimeter that catches light, giving the mirror an upscale, framed look without an actual frame.

Do you offer antique mirrors?

Yes. We offer antique mirror finishes with a warm, aged patina β€” perfect for vintage-inspired designs, custom bars, and accent walls.

Window Glass

Why is my window foggy between the panes?

Foggy windows mean the seal on your insulated glass unit (IGU) has failed, letting moisture in. The good news: you usually don't need a whole new window β€” we can replace just the glass unit, saving you money.

Can you replace just the broken pane?

In most cases, yes. The frame, hardware, and trim stay in place β€” we just replace the glass itself, which is much less expensive than installing a whole new window.

How much does window glass replacement cost?

Most window glass replacements range from $140 to $500 per window depending on size, glass type, and whether tempered safety glass is required. Standard residential windows usually fall in the $200–$350 range.

Cabinet Glass

What types of cabinet glass do you offer?

We offer over two dozen options. The five most popular are clear, seedy, reeded, frosted, and rain glass. We also carry water glass, fluted, baroque, glue chip, and many more specialty patterns.

Can I add glass to my existing cabinets?

Yes β€” that's what most customers do. We add glass inserts to your existing cabinet doors. Note that the wood center panel needs to be removed first, which you can do yourself or have a cabinet maker handle.

Glass Railings & Pool Fences

How much do glass railings cost?

Glass stair handrails typically run $7,000–$15,000, and glass pool fences range from $5,000–$25,000, depending on linear footage, hardware, and complexity. We provide a firm written quote before any work begins.

Are glass railings and pool fences code-compliant?

Yes. We design and install all glass railings to meet International Building Code and local DFW codes. Pool fences meet Texas pool barrier requirements including height, gap spacing, and self-closing, self-latching gates.

In-Glass Pet Doors

Can you put a pet door in my existing glass door?

Yes, but it requires new glass. Tempered glass can't be cut after it's made (it would shatter), so we fabricate a new tempered glass panel with the pet door built in, then install it into your existing door, window, or sliding door frame.

What pet door brand do you use?

We primarily install Security Boss pet doors β€” a trusted, durable brand with excellent insulation and security features. We can also fabricate glass to fit a pet door you supply.

Commercial Glass

Do you do commercial glass work?

Yes! We handle commercial storefronts, office partitions, gym and salon mirrors, restaurant glass, and retail displays. We work with general contractors, architects, and business owners across DFW.

Do you work with general contractors and architects?

Yes. We regularly partner with GCs, architects, designers, and tenant improvement teams. We coordinate around your build schedule, match spec sheets, provide 3D CAD renderings, and offer certificates of insurance on request.

How fast can you respond to a broken storefront?

We offer same-day emergency service for commercial glass with a $250 minimum. We can board up immediately to secure your business and return to install permanent glass once it's fabricated.
